When the Great War ends, Joshua Connor, a grieving farmer and sometime water diviner from the Mallee in Victoria, sets out to fulfil his wife's dying wish - to travel to Gallipoli to recover the bodies of his three sons and bury them in consecrated ground. Crescent collides with cross, and hope with reason as he discovers that his eldest son, Art, may still be alive. When Connor makes a desperate dash into the perilous heart of Anatolia one question haunts him: If Art is alive, why hasn't he come home? Andrew Anastasios and Meaghan Wilson-Anastasios' The Water Diviner is not a war novel, not even an anti-war novel. Instead it focuses on the battles that go on inside the hearts and minds of a small group of Australians and Turks as they struggle to bury their dead and rebuild their lives after the First World War. The story is based on first-hand resources, diaries and official records, and has been adapted as a feature film starring Russell Crowe.

Four years after the Battle of Gallipoli, widowed Australian farmer Joshua Connor (Crowe) travels to Turkey in search of his three missing sons (Ryan Corr, James Fraser and Ben O'Toole) who were believed to have been killed or captured during the bloody conflict. Once there, his search is complicated as he begins to fall for local widow Ayshe (Olga Kurylenko), the owner of the hotel he takes up residence in. Aided by the reluctant Lieutenant Colonel Cyril Hughes (Jai Courtney), Connor searches for his sons amongst the tens of thousands dead hoping to give them a proper burial, but the suffering father is given fresh hope one may still be alive by Turkish soldier Major Hasan (Yilmaz Erdogan).

Ludovico Einaudi's beautifully evocative music lends itself so perfectly to use in films that for many years directors have been using it to complement their images. 17 of the best examples of his music for film over the past two decades are included here in this Film Music collection, arranged for solo Piano. Perhaps the most well-suited of all Einaudi's film collaborations have been with directors Olivier Nakache and Eric Toledano on their hugely successful films 'Intouchables' and 'Samba'. From these two films come nine of Einaudi's most wonderful works, including Time Lapse and Una Mattina. Film Music further includes selections from 'Comes A Bright Day' (Berlin Song), 'Insidious' (the astonishing Nuvole Bianche) and his compositions Shane Meadows' 'This Is England' and Russell Crowe's 'The Water Diviner'. Alongside the beautiful transcriptions is a fascinating introduction to each film, letting you find out about how the song was used as well as learning how to play it. This luxurious collection of cinematic sheet music is perfect for fans of Ludovico Einaudi as well as film lovers who appreciate the power of a marriage of music and image – A masterclass in film composition. Song List: - Berlin Song - Nuvole Bianche
